Norman Phillips Buried Wednesday One of Royston's most prominent citizens, Mr. W. Norman Phillips, died at his home early Tuesday morning after an extended illness, he was 81 years of age. For many years Mr. Phillips was a successful farmer and later a salesman. He was keenly interested in the political and civic affairs of his community, state and nation. Through the years, he made scores of friends throughout Northeast Georgia, who now sorrow at his passing. A native of Hart county, he was a son of the late Dennis W. and Laura Ataway Phillips. He was never married. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, from the Royston Methodist Church, of which he was a member. Officiating were the Reverends Neal Windom and G.M. Chitwood. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery. Surviving are three brothers, T. V. Phillips, F. C. Phillips, and Fred Phillips, all of Royston, and one sister, Miss Louella Phillips, also of Royston. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Cunningham and Pruitte were in charge of the arrangements.
