Mr. James Bryel “Buck” Phillips, 81, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2017, at St. 
Mary’s Sacred Heart in Lavonia, GA.

Mr. Phillips was born on January 9, 1936, in Royston, GA, son of the late Hubert 
Phillips and the late Retha Jane Parten Phillips. He was an inspector having 
worked at Oliver Rubber Company and a member of Gordon Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Jean 
Phillips; daughter, Pamela Phillips Romandeluna; brothers, Benson Phillips, Randy 
Phillips, C.L. Phillips and Eugene Phillips; and sister, Sarah Lee Hall.

Survivors include his son, Scotty (Colleen) Phillips of Royston, GA; daughter, 
Rita Phillips Dunn of Carnesville, GA; grandchildren, Allie Phillips Bohannon, 
Curtis (Lori) Ginn, Brack Phillips, Alisa Dunn, Lindsey Dunn, Cristalle 
Romandeluna and Samuel Romandeluna; great grandchildren, McKenzie Ginn, Brady 
Ginn, Cooper Bohannon and Emma Romandeluna.

Funeral services will be held at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, August 
9, 2017, at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Andy Bond officiating. Entombment will follow in 
the Franklin Memorial Gardens-South.

The family will receive friends at Pruitt Funeral Home on Wednesday afternoon from 
1:00 P.M. until funeral hour.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the charity of 
one’s choice.

Pruitt Funeral Home in Royston, GA is in charge of arrangements.
