The Carnesville Herald and Advance, Sept. 18, 1930
The death of Mrs. Ida Poole, age 78, at her home near Carnesville on Tuesday 
afternoon, September 16th, will be mourned by a large number of friends and 
relatives.  Her death was from apoplexy after a short illness. Her husband, Mr. 
Elijah w. Poole, preceded her to the grave several years ago.

Funeral services were held at Nails Creek church, Wednesday, with Rev. C.T. 
Burgess and Rev. J.F. Goode in charge. Interment followed in the churchyard 
cemetery. A large concourse of friend and relatives attended the funeral.

Mrs. Poole was one of the highest respected women of her community and her sweet 
disposition and gentle character had made friends wherever she was known. She was 
a devoted member of the church and so lived that her life was worthy of emulation 
by everyone. She was kind, considerate and thoughtful of others and in her death a 
character loved by all who knew her has passed on to her reward.

She is survived by three sons: Mr. Geo. H. Poole, of near Carnesville, Mrs. Joe 
Culpepper, of Cornelia, Mr.s J.F. Shirley of Belton, S.C. She is also survived by 
two brothers, Mr. M.J. Payne, of Carnesville; five sisters, Mrs. Decie McFarlin, 
of Arkansas, Mrs. Anna Kesler, Ashland, Mrs. Etta Wilmot, Carnesville, Mrs. Cora 
Payne, Atlanta, and Mrs. Gennie Culpepper, Carnesville; 37 grandchildren and 8 
great grandchildren.

B.D. Ginn funeral director, was in charge of arrangements.

The bereaved relatives the Herald extends sympathy in their loss.
