Montine Grizzle Rice, 93, of Royston, died Saturday, September 9, 2006.

Born in Franklin County on June 24, 1913, she was the daughter of the late 
Harvey and Wordie Dudley Grizzle. She was a homemaker and a member of the 
Royston Baptist Church. Mrs. Rice was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse 
Henry Rice; four daughters, Patricia Ann Rice Aaron, Barbara Jo Rice, Jessica 
Shirley Rice and Sandra Gail Rice Pinson; and one sister, Ethelda Grizzle 
Carson.

Survivors include grandchildren, Patrice Luke, Hull, Cindy Hayes-Colley, 
Colbert, Thomas Jesse Aaron, Washington, D.C., Jeffery Aaron, Clayton, Laura 
Pinson Sellars, Tucker, and Jessica Pinson Pennington, Atlanta; six great-
grandchildren, Jason and Jody Luke, Brandon and A.J. Hayes, Kellie and Chloe 
Sellars; and sisters, Orene Barber, Atlanta, and Nancy Moon, Danielsville. 

Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 12, at the Royston Baptist 
Church with the Rev. Byron Greene and Dr. Danny Barton officiating. Burial was 
in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Royston.

Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, was in charge of arrangements.
