He was 83 years old and lived in this section his entire life, where he was held in high esteem by all who knew him. Funeral services were held from the Zidon church Thursday morning at eleven o'clock with the Rev. Mrs. Turner officiating. Interment was in Zidon cemetery amid a large concourse of sorrowing friends. Mr. Roach was a faithful member of the Zidon church and lived an honest, upright christian life. By his kindly disposition he made countless friends, many of whom often sought his counsel and advice. His long life of usefulness will bear fruit in generations yet to come. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lester Phillips, Mrs. Elmer Belk, Royston, two sons, J.L. Roach, Belglade, Fla., D.W. Roach, Kannapolis, N.C., one sister, Mrs. Betty Bond, one brother, T. P. Roach, Royston, several grandchildren and other relatives, all of whom have the sympathy of their friends.
