Mrs. Evie Royston, 76, died at the home of her son, Judge H. Royston, near 
Carnesville, last Friday, January 30, following an illness of three weeks of heart 
trouble.

Mrs. Royston was born in Franklin County, the former Miss Evie Elizabeth Cape. She 

was married to Mr. Robert Lee Royston in 1893, her husband having passed on 
several years ago. She was a member of Zidon Baptist Church and lived a true 
christian life. She numbered her friends by her acquaintances, and her passing is 
mourned by many.

Funeral rites were held at Zidon Baptist Church Sunday, with Rev. Spence Phillips 
officiating.

Mrs. Royston is survived by three children, Judge H. Royston, Carnesville, J. T. 
Royston, Carnesville, and W. H. Royston, Orlando, Fla.; three sisters, Mrs. Lillie 
Phillips, Mrs. Mamie Beatenbo, Mrs. Lona Phillips; two brothers, T. W. Cape, 
Ashland, and Ezra Cape, Royston.

She will be greatly missed in the community where she lived.
