J. Segars Died Last Friday Afternoon Death came to Mr. William Jefferson Segers, 88- at the home of his son, Elias Segers in the Flintsville district last Friday, after an illness of six weeks of Brights disease. Mr. Segers was born in the Stranges district of Franklin, and lived his entire life in this section. He was married to Miss Mary Ann Murray on August 27, 1876. He lived a true christian life, being a member of the Prospect Methodist Church. Funeral services were held at Prospect Church Saturday, May 29, at 4 p.m., with Rev. Mr. Barker officiating. A large crowd attended the funeral. He is survived by the following children; Mrs. R.L. Cotton, Ashland, Mr. C.D. Segers and Mr. E.L. Segers, Toccoa RFD, Mrs. W.R. Lewallen, Commerce, RFD, and Mrs. H.L. Segers, of Carnesville. One brother, Mr. A.B. Segers, of Lavonia, 38 grandchildren, 60 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and a number of other relatives also survive. B.D. Ginn, funeral director, was in charge of arrangements.
