He had worked all day in the hot sun and frequently complained of pains in the head. It is believed that death was the result of over-heat or a sunstroke. Mr. Sewell was a prominent citizen and well known thought this section. He was born and reared in the same community in which he died, and spent his entire life in Franklin County. He was in the prime of life, being 43 years old, and had seemed in the best of health until only a few hours before his passing. Mr. Sewell was a true Christian, being a faithful member of the Indian Creek church. He was united in wedlock to Miss Pearlie May Whiten 16 years ago. He was a devoted husband and father, and made friends with all who knew him. In his passing, his church and community have lost a most valuable citizen. Funeral services were held at Indian Creek church Sunday, July 11th with Rev. T. W. Holcomb, officiating. A large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends attended the funeral. Interment was in Indian Creek cemetery. The deceased is survived by his wife, two daughters, Misses Emma Frances and Reba Sewell, one son, Robert Sewell, one sister, Mrs. Trudie McDuffie, one half brother, Mr. Clarence Payne, and several other close relatives. Sympathy is extended the bereaved family. Pallbearers were: Diedrich Payne, Newell McDuffie, George McDuffie, Ondie Whiten, Clarence Whiten and Mart Whiten. B. D.
