Child Killed by Lightning
Dwight Delone Smith, eight year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Reid S. Smith of Red Hill 
Community, was instantly killed by a bolt of lightning early Tuesday morning while 
hoeing cotton.

Two other children were in the field at the time but escaped injury.

Funeral services were held at Broad River Church Wednesday, June 17, with Revs. 
Ben Turner and R.W. Waters officiating.

In addition to the parents, the following brothers and sisters survive; Quida and 
Sue Smith, Boyd, Charles, Harry, and Don Smith, all of Red Hill.

The bereaved family have the sympathy of a large circle of friends.

B.D.Ginn, funeral director, was in charge of arrangements.
