Franklin County Citizen
Mrs. Smith, a 66-year-old residing on Route 1 died in the Cobb Memorial Hospital
early Thursday morning, 
February 10, 1977 after battling a long-had sickness.

Mrs. Smith had been born in Franklin County to Obe D. and Nellie Carey Parten; she
was a Methodist and 
the widow of one Rufus Smith.  

She was survived by her daughter, Mrs. Billy Anderson (Royston, GA); her brothers,
Archie, Jim, John, and 
Harold Parten (Royston, Ga); her sisters, Miss Ora Parten and Mrs S. M. Fortson
(both in Royston, Ga); and 
2 grandchildren.

Reverands Jim Howell and Hoyt Dove held services for her on Saturday, February 12,
1977 at the 
Pennington Chapel United Methodist Church; she was then buried in the church's
cemetery. 

The Pruitte Funeral Home (Royston, GA) handled all the arrangements
