MARION AYERS STANCIL, 21, passed away early Wednesday morning, November 21. She was a passenger in the car which was wrecked when it collided with a train. She was a daughter of Mr. Arto Ayers and Mrs. Elizabeth Smith Ayers, and lived on the Mize Road. She was married to Mr. John Stancil, Dec. 26, 1941. She attended Franklin County High School. Marion was a member of Hunters Creek Baptist Church, and possessed a personality that won her many friends. She was a young woman whose bright, sunny smile and cheerful disposition will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. She was generous and friendly and was always thoughtful of her family and loved ones. Hundreds of friends called to show the love and esteem they had for her and for her bereaved family. She is survived by her husband; two children, Diane, two years old and Phil, aged 9 months; her parents; three sisters, Janelle, Faye and Clara Ann; three brothers, Sam, George, and Jimmie. Impressive funeral services were conducted at Broad River Baptist Church Friday at 3 p.m. with Rev. Ben Turner, Rev. George Thurmond and Rev. English officiating. Pallbearers were Messrs. Fred, John, B. T., Bryan and Rance Ayers and Harris Poole. Interment was in Broad River cemetery. Fred Northcutt, Funeral Director.
