Royston--Alfred Strickland, 76, of 468 Old Elberton Rd., husband of LaVerne Baker 
Strickland, died Friday, April 16, 1993 at Athens Regional Medical Center.

Born in Madison County,, he was a son of the late Young Albert and Sara Frances 
Olbon Strickland. He was an officer in Woodmen of the World and Royston Lions 
Club. He was a member of Franklin County Cattlemen's Association, Hart County Farm 
Bureau and served on the ASCS board in Hart County. He was a member of the Royston 
Baptist Church.

Surviving are wife; son, Melvin Strickland of Royston; daughters, Miriam Merritt 
of Stone Mountain, Sara Strickland of Duluth, Becky Sanders of Lavonia and Colleen 
Phillips of Royston; eight grandchildren.

A graveside service was held at 4p.m. Sunday, April 18, at Rose Hill Cemetery by 
the Rev. Danny Barton.

Pruitt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
