Strickland, of Canon, which was caused from injuries received in an automobile accident. While he and a companion was driving by the cemetery at Bowersville the driver lost control of the car and struck a telephone pole and threw young Strickland against some part of the car causing a fractured skull. He was rushed to the hospital in Royston but died a few hours later from a hemorrhage of the brain. The other young man was only slightly injured. Funeral services for Mr. Strickland were conducted Monday afternoon at five o'clock by Rev. A.H. Holland in Canon and interment followed in the Canon Cemetery. The large crowd to attend the funeral attested to the high regard in which the young man was held. Besides his father, Mr. J.A. Strickland, he is survived by two brothers, Woodrow and Logan Strickland; two sisters, Frances and Louise Strickland, of Canon; two half brothers, Mr. Marco Strickland of Royston and Ralph Strickland of Atlanta. The relatives have the deepest sympathy in the untimely passing of their loved one. The father is a prominent business man and farmer of Canon and well known throughout the county.
