Toccoa Record, January 12, 1967
MRS. A. J. UPCHURCH, JR., died last Sunday afternoon at 4 pm in her home on 
Judy Drive in McDonough.
Her health had been very poor for several years.
Services were held Tuesday afternoon from the McDonough Baptist Church with 
Rev. C. C. Buckalew and Rev. George Fields officiating.  Interment was in the 
Upchurch family plot at Bethany Baptist Church.
Mr. and Mrs. Upchurch had moved to McDonough 16 months ago, coming here from 
Decatur.
A native of Franklin County, Mrs. Claudie Wood Upchurch was a graduate of 
Franklin County High School and Toccoa Fall Institute.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include one brother, Leondus Wood of 
Toccoa; aunts, Lola Moorehead, Bogart; Eucille Henson, Toccoa; Lala Coffee, 
Thomasville, NC; Clara Westbrook, Toccoa; Mrs. Lonie Payne, Carnesville; 
uncle, Clarence Means, Toccoa.  She was the granddaughter of the late Dr. 
Claud Wood of Commerce.
