Coosa River News/Cherokee Co., AL/Oct 1898
Dr. Barnabus Pace White was born in Franklin County, GA June 27, 1832; came to 
Alabama in 1855 and taught school in Randolph County the same year, read 
medicine under Dr. William S. Acker, of Cherokee County and graduated from the 
Augusta, GA Medical college in 1857 when he began the practice of medicine in 
Spring Garden. He was married to Miss R. K. Acker, daughter of Dr. Wm. S. Acker 
in 1858. Was appointed Assistant Surgeon 12th Alabama Infantry in 1861 and 
served until 1864, when he resumed his practice in this county which he 
continued unrelentingly with the exception of about two years spent in 
Missouri. Died in Spring Garden Oct 12th and buried 13th at Carmel Church with 
Masonic honors. A Brother- Dr. Thomas White, 2 sons and a daughter Dr. W.Y. 
White and Attorney E.R. White and Mrs. W.H. Busbin of Rome, GA survive him.

Additional Comments:
Barnabus Pace White was the son of Nathaniel Hunt and Martha Patsy Pace White.
His wife- Rufina Elizabeth Acker was the daughter of William Sutherland and 
Harriett Elizabeth White Acker. 
Harriett was Barnabus' Aunt. (His Father's Sister)
