Will (and Estate Appraisal) of John Chalmbers 17 Dec 1815 Franklin Co., GA WILL: FOUND IN GEORGIA ARCHIVES; DRAWER 178, BOX 12; p. 96 In the name of God, Amen.. I John Chalmbers, Senior of the State of Georgia & County of Franklin being in perfect mind & memory & knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last will & testament my soul I give to almighty God who gave it not doubting but I shall receive it again through his mighty power at the great day of Judgement. My body I recommend to the earth from which it came. As to my property where with it has pleased God to bless me, I dispose of it as follows, viz: To my wife, Elisabeth, I give & bequeath the whole of my property both personal & real estate to be at her disposal during her natural life so that she may dispose of any part thereof for anything that she may need for a support of herself & family and to have it in her power to give to the amount of fifty dollars as under her discretion to my two daughters, Isabella & Ann when they shall leave her by marriage or otherwise & at her death if any of the property should remain to be equally divided among all my children & I do hereby appoint John Chalmbers, Jr. Executor of this my last will & testament. In witness whereof , I do hereunto set my hand & seal this 17th December 1815.
