Will of John Clarkson 28 Jan 1832 Franklin County, GA Georgia } January the twenty eighty, Eighteen hundred Franklin County } & thirty two -- In the name of God Amen. - I, John Clarkston being old and infirm and weak of body, but of perfect mind and memory, calling to mind the mortality of the Body, and Knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make & ordain this my last will and Testament, that is to say, principally and first of all I give & recommend my soul unto the hands of Almighty God who gave it and my body I recommend to the Earth to be Buried in decent order at the discretion of my friends, nothing doubting but at the general resurrection, I shall receive the same by the mighty power of God, and as touching such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life, I give and dispose of the Same in the following manner and form - first I give to & bequeath to my beloved Daughter Polly Boswell Two Dollars - I also give to my beloved son Joseph Clarkson Two Dollars - I also give to my beloved son David Clarkson Two Dollars - I also give to my beloved Daughter Heziah Pool Two Dollars - I also give to my beloved daughter Melley Hill Two Dollars - I also give to my beloved Daughter Elizabeth Mize, Sally Shockley, Nancy Slayton, and Jane Clarkson, all my lands and tenements and all my negro property, plantation tools, household & Kitchen furniture, together with all my stock of horses, Cattle, Hogs and sheep, and also my Blacksmith tools, to be equally divided amongs the four last mentioned daughters Ratifying this to be my last will and testament annulling all former wills by me given or made, in witness whereof I have hereunto put my hand and seal the day & year first above written, in the presence of, I also appoint Gabriel Martin and James Hargrove, Esqr.
