Now all men these presents that I, RICHARD DOWNS hath bargain and give to JOHN SMITH all my property my lifetime and my wife and then to be sold and the money to be divided between us JOHN SMITH and GABRIEL SMITH Decr 18th 1819. Test: William Eslick, Robin Stone State of Tennessee, Lincoln County Court. October Term 1820. This the annexed last will and statement of RICHARD DOWNS was this day exhibited in open court for probate whereupon came William Eslick and Robert Stone the subscribing witnessed thereto and made oath they heard the said RICHARD DOWNS acknowledge the same to be his last will and testament & that he was at that time of sound mind & memory. This will was probably a duplicate filed in Lincoln Co.,Tn. for the purposes of any family members there.)
