Will and Estate Inventory of James Little 12 Jun 1815 Franklin Co., GA James Little WILL: FOUND IN GEORGIA ARCHIVES; DRAWER 178, BOX 12; p. 78 In the name of God, Amen. I, James Little, of the state of Georgia & County of Franklin being in perfect mind & memory and knowing that is appointed once for all men to die, do make & ordain this my last will & testament, Viz: I give & bequeath my soul to Almighty God who gave it, not doubting but I shall receive it again through his mighty power at the great day of judgement. My Body I recommend to the ferma whence it came. As to my property where with it has pleased God to bless me, dispose of it as follows : To my beloved Wife Ann, I give & bequeath the following property Viz: one bed & furniture and my other household & kitchen furniture, one beast & her saddle, three cows & calves,& my stock of hogs to be her right, My negro woman & child named Lucy & Starling to be with her for the benefit of herself & my children during her life time of widowhood, then finally & conclusively her the said Negro woman & her increase to be equally divided amongst my five children named Sarah, Elizabeth, Polly, William Washington, & James Monroe, all the moneys arising from the sale of my property on which may be lawfully coming to me & moneys on hand to be for the purpose of schooling the above named children. My three daughters to be taught to read,& write well, my two sons to be taught reading, writing, & arithmatic as far as the rule of three. Then if any of the above mentioned money should remain after educating the aforesaid children as above mentioned, the said money then to be equally divided among the said children. And I do hereby appoint my wife, Ann, Executrix & John Chalmers, Jr. Executor of this my last will & testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto se my hand & seal this 12th June 1815.
