Will of Sarah Payne 22 Jul 1845 Franklin County, GA SARAH PAYNES WILL m: Maxfield Henslee Payne Franklin Co, GA In the name of God, Amen. I Sarah Payne of the county and state aforesaid being at times sick and quite feeble in body, but of disposing mind and memory, and knowing that is appointed for all persons once to die, do make and ordain the following my last will and testament. That is to say - First of all I recommend my soul to God who gave it and my body to the earth from which it came, to be buried in decent and Christian burial at the descretion of my executor and friends. Item first: I give and bequeath unto my grandson John A Williamson one horse bridle and saddle and one feather (bed) and furniture to be delivered to him by my executor when he arrives at the age of twenty one years or sooner at the descretion of my said executor, Item 2nd: I give and bequeath unto my four children, to wit Nancy McConnal, David H Payne, James W Payne and Elizabeth E Cobb (Lil's note: this could be Coble) all my property both real and personal, lt being a childs part of the estate of my Husbabd Maxfield H Payne, deceased, that is to say one fifth part of all the lands belonging to said estate, together with the following Negros- to wit Sarah, Washington, and Harriett, and their increase, to be equally divided among the abve named children after my death, Lastly: I do constitute and appoint my son James W Payne, executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made, hereby ratifying and confirming this my last will and testament, In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 22nd day of July 1845 Saray Payne {seal} Signed Sealed in presence of David Grimes?
