All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm Submitted by: Bobbi Keenan Franklin County, Georgia, Will of Walter Poole, dated December 14, 1854 In the name of God Amen, I Walter Pool of said state and county being of advanced age and knowing that I must shortly depart this life deem it right and proper both as respects my family and myself that I should make a disposition of the property with which a kind providence has blessed me do therefore make this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other heretofore made by me. 1st Item: I desire and direct that my body be buried in a decent and Christian like manner suitable to my circumstances and condition in life, my soul I trust shall return to rest with God who gave it. 2nd Item: I give bequeath and devise to my three sons Andrew P. Pool and Walter D. Pool and Doctor A. Pool all the tract of land whereon I now live containing one hundred and sixty five acres to them forever provided they should maintain me and my wife and daughter Amela during our lifetime. 3rd Item: I give bequeath to my son William Pool seventy-five dollars out of my estate and twenty-five dollars to my daughter Martha, wife of Derrel Garner and five dollars to my son Amos N. Pool and twenty-five dollars each to my two sons Walter D. and Doctor A. Pool and the remainder of my property to be if any remains equally divided between my children William Pool and Andrew P. Pool and Amos N. Pool and Walter D. Pool and Doctor A. Pool and my daughter Martha, wife of Derrel Garner. Walter Pool his mark and seal Witnessed by Adam Dawson, William Dawson and Osborn Garner, J.P. Walter's wife, though not named in the will, is named Martha. Pool(e), 31 SC; Martha 68, GA; Pamelia 43, SC 1860 Mortality Schedule for Franklin County Georgia: Poole, Walter, 86, SC, Farmer, Diarrhea, June 1864 Walter D. Poole died and did not have an estate. His administrator was William Poole. 1864 Andrew P. Poole died and did have an estate but no will as far as the estate records show. His administratrix was Mahala Poole.
