He was the father of Nancy Suttles, wife of Rev. John M. Smith. He was a gunsmith. Was in the Revolutionary War. The Indians captured him and kept him for a year or more. He fixed their guns for them and they gave him liberty to hunt, and he got away from them in that way. He would walk at night and lay up in the daytime until he got away from them. We have deed to a lot of land he drew from the Government, signed by Gove. Wm. Schley, with State seal and coat-of-arms on it. He died at the home of Rev. J. M. Smith in Fulton County, GA at the age ov 108. Was buried at Utoy Church, Near Atlanta, GA. He came from Virginia. His wife Margaret Harbin was from Virginia. She died at Rev. John M. Smith's, 16 July 1839 at tthe age of 98. Buried at Utoy church. They had five boys and 6 girls. One son was Macajah Suttles father of Wiley & Joseph Suttles.
