Atlanta Constitution: July 23, 1895; "Mr. Kilpatrick, age 105, applied for pension. Born in Washington County. Now resident of Bartow." Tuesday, July 23, 1895; The Constitution, Atlanta, Georgia. W. A. KILPATRICK, AGE 105 A veteran who testifies that his age is 105 has applied for a pension under the indigent pension act. He is W. A. Kilpatrick and his home is in Bartow county. In his affidavit accompanying his application, Mr. Kilpatrick states that he was born in 1790 in Washington county, Georgia. On the 4th of March, 1862, he volunteered as a soldier of the confederacy, becoming a member of Battery B, Ninth Georgia battalion of artillery. He served until fall of 1864. The physicians testify that his health is fair, but that owing to his extreme age he is unable to make a support for himself.
