M. C. Few Testifies Against Superintendent. Says Head of Confederate Retreat Used Heavy Stick and Beat Him After a Quarrel. Captain A. W. Force, superintendent of the Confederate Soldiers Home, was indicted by the grand jury Wednesday ont he charge of assault and battery. The prosecutor in the action is M. C. Few, a veteran inmate of the home. The plaintiff asserts that the difficulty took place on Monday of this week and grew out of a former misunderstanding between himself and Captain Force. According to his own statement, Few accused Captain Force of misrepresenting some matter in which the former was involved. A short time afterward, he says, the superintendent armed himself with a big stick and beat him severely. Captain Force is himself an ex-Confederate soldier and has been in charge ofthe home for some years. Both are well advanced in age.
