The Atlanta Georgian and News
A negro, unknown to the police, shot and instantly killed Gladys Brown, a negro 
woman, Tuesday night about 10 o'clock at a negro dance at 217 East Ellis St.  
The woman was shot thru the head with a revolver and died instantly.

Officers Hood and Gorman went to the secene and found quite a crowd of drunk 
and disorderly negroes.  A number of arrests were made, but the murderer had 
made his escape.  Detectives are now working on the case.
