T. Akers, who has been critically ill at his home, 517 North Boulevard, for the past week. Several days ago Mr. Akers was stricken with paralysis and last Sunday he suffered another attack which rendered his recovery almost hopeless. It was thought yesterday afternoon that he would not live through the night, but this morning he was reported as resting easier and while little hope of his recovery is entertained it is believed that he still has a chance to live. Dr. Block, a brain specialist, was called in this morning and is assisting Drs. Avery, Payne, Hardin and Bartley. Mr. Akers is a prominent business man of Atlanta and is president of the Piedmont Lumber Company.
