They will be forced to stand trial by the state of South Carolina on the same charge for which they were sent to the federal prison. Three years ago the postoffice safe, which is in the store of W. P. Cook, was burglarized. In order to reach the safe the men had to break in Cook's store. It is for this offense that they will be tried when taken back to the Palmetto state. They were sent up for five years by the federal authorities, but owing to good behavior this sentence was cut down to just a little over three.
