Atlanta Constitution, 18 August 1870
DIED.

BRANNEN-On the 5th of June last, on his way from Atlanta to Norcross, W. T. C. 
Brannen, in his 38th year of his age.  Beneath the shade of a friendly oak.
"Woodman, spare that oak,
Touch not it's friendly boughs,
In death it sheltered him, 
Oh, do but spare it now."
