P.H. Brewster Buried With Honors With high officials of federal and state courts joining with friends in every walk of life and members of the immediate family mourning his passing, funeral services for Colonel P.H. Brewster, prominent member of the Georgia bar, who died Thursday at his residence in College Park were held Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the College Park Methodist church. The services were conducted by Rev. Irby Henderson, Dr. W.H. LaPrade and Dr. Wallace Rogers. Business was suspended by federal, state and city courts so that Colonel Brewster's hundreds of friends and admirers at the Atlanta bar might have an opportunity to attend the funeral services. Judge W.D. Ellis, senior judge of the Fulton superior court, paid high tribute to Colonel Brewster from the bench Friday morning, "he was a man of great learning and ability; with a superb idea of the rights of other people and great courtesy towards the bench and other members of the bar; a man who was a good soldier in time of war and a splendid citizen in time of peace." Colonel Brewster held a commanding position in the Georgia bar for more than 50 years, 29 years of which he lived in Atlanta. He was recognized as dean of the Atlanta bar, having served as its president at one time and being its oldest member for many years.
