Candler Dead Atlanta – Mrs. Asa G. Candler, wife of Atlanta’s foremost capitalist and former mayor, died at the Candler house in Druid Hills. She had been ill five years, the last year being constantly confined to her bed. Mrs. Candler was 59 years old and had lived in Atlanta practically all her life. She had been married more than 40 years. She was the daughter of George J. Howard of Augusta, formerly a wholesale druggist in Atlanta. She has five children – Charles H., William and Walter T. Candler, Asa G. Candler, Jr. and Mrs. Henry Heinz.
