Suspect Foul Play in Clower's Death 
Young Man, Found in Unconscious Condition on Sidewalk, Dies at the Grady 
Hospital.
Foul play is suspected in the case of Ed Clower, a young white man about 25 
years of age who died at the Grady hospital late Sunday afternoon, after being 
found in an unconscious condition lying on the sidewalk late Saturday night in 
front of the American Can company of Marietta street. Clower had a deep cut on 
the left side of his head.  He was found by the night watchman of the American 
Can company. 

There was not a single article in Clower's pockets to identify him. His watch 
was gone; his money, pocketknife and all were missing.  Mystery as to his 
identity was not cleared away until Sunday night after his death, when about 7 
o'clock his brother, R A Clower, of 406 Elm street (Western Heights), with 
whom Clower lives, missing him, came to the Grady hospital in search of his 
brother, fearing that he had possibly met with an accident. 

Detective Garner is investigating the cause of Clower's death, working on the 
theory that he was assaulted and robbed.  Since the time that Clower was 
carried to the Grady hospital he had never spoken a word, not even opening his 
eyes. 

His body was removed to Bloomfield's undertaking establishment, where a 
coroner's inquest will be held.

Clower-Friends of Mr. Edward Clower and Mrs. Nannie Clower and family are 
invited to attend the funeral of Mr. Edward Clower this afternoon at 2 o'clock 
from the residence, 406 Elm street.  Interment at Hollywood.  Flowers in care 
of P J Bloomfield Co.
