Cozart of this city, was preached at the First Methodist Church by Rev. H. H. Parks, Rev. Mr. Duncan assisting in the services. After the services a large number of relatives and friends accompanied the remains to Oakland cemetery, where they were interred. The pallbearers were Judge Wm. Ezzard, Willis Peck, C. W. Hunnicutt, S. B. Brewer, J. S. Boyd, A. O. M. Gay, H. C. Leonard and T. A. Grambling. Mrs. Cozart was born in Putnam county in 1806, and was 73 years of age at the time of her death. She united herself with the church 55 years ago, and has been a resident of Atlanta since 1851. Many are the friends who grieve at her death. Her head is laid upon a pillow of clay. Her hands that have ministered so untiringly are folded beneath the gloomy portal. But the grave does not keep her; she lives again--has awakened in a pure sphere, is numbered among the angels, and her voice joins in that chorus so beautiful, yet so far away that no mortal ear can catch the faintest echo of her son.
