She was a slave of the late Judge Clark Howell, Sr., one of the pioneer settlers of Fulton county, and after his death she had as her master, Judge Howell’s son, the late Evan P. Howell, father of Clark Howell, Sr., editor of The Constitution. Judge Howell gave her 10 acres of land on the present Defoor road, where she lived until the time of her death. Five generations of Molly’s family served the Howells and even now some of her kinsmen are serving members of the Howell family.
