M. DAVIES Three Ministers to take Part in Service on Saturday Afternoon Pastors of three denominations will conduct the funeral Saturday afternoon of Mr. M. M. Davies, organizer? and president of the Fo*** & Davies Printing Company, and one of the most active laymen in the city. Mr. Davies died early Thursday afternoon at his home at 725 (735?) Pe*** Avenue. Dr. Wallace Rogers, pastor of Glenn Memorial Methodist Church; Dr. Louie D. Newton, pastor of Druid Hills Baptist Church, and Dr. G. R. Stauffer, pastor of the First Christian Church, will be in charge of the services at 3:30 o'clock at Spring Hill. Pallbearers will be: Jack Stewart, Adrien Ford, Stephen West, Charlie Bailey, James Morton and W. R. Bean. Burial will be in West View Cemetery. Mr. Davies has been in ill health for several years, but it was only recently that his illness became acute. He is 65 years old. Born in Zebulon, Ga., the son of Rev. F. B. Davies, founder of Park Street Methodist Church. Mr. Davies had spent his entire business career of forty-two years with the printing house, one of the largest in the South, which he organized. In the religious life of the community Mr. Davies always took the keenest interest. He was an organizer of the Billy Sunday Club, now the men's Evangelistic Club, and was its first president. He was for many years a teacher in the Sunday school of the Park Street Methodist Church, which his father had founded, and a large class of young women, the Hall-Davies Class, is named for him. He also served for seven years as superintendent of Park Street Sunday school, and the same length of time as first superintendent of Wesley Memorial Sunday school. For seven years, too, in his earlier life, he had been super-intendent of the St. John Sunday school. The last few years he had been a member of Glenn Memorial Methodist Church and an associate teacher of the Men's Bible Class. Also interested in church co-operation and in inter-racial relations, he had served as a member of committees on this work for many years. Mr. Davies was an enthusiastic golfer, and played frequently at the Druid Hills Golf Club, of which he was a charter member, until his health failed. He was a thirty-second degree mason, and a Shriner. Surviving Mr. Davies are his wife, the former Miss Mary Lou Aldredge; a daughter, Mrs. Hal Curtis Miller; four grandsons, Marvin Davies Miller, Hal Curtis Miller, Jr., Henry Miller, and Orme?
