A Well-Known Railroad Man Passes Away. Mr. James R. Edwards died at his home, No. 28 Tatnall street, early yesterday morning. He has been a sufferer for some months, and his death was not unexpected. Mr. Edwards was one of the best known railroad men in Atlanta. Back in 1856, he began as a passenger conductor on the Western and Atlantic railroad and for ten years he was with that road. From there he went to the Central and has been with that road, on and off, ever since. Mr. Edwards was the son of Rev. George Edwards, a prominent minister, whose home was in Jackson county. This son was the second son of eleven children, only two of whom are living, Mrs. Fuller, of Atlanta, and Mrs. Ferguson, of Nashville. Mr. Edwards married Miss Eva Lester, daughter of Mrs. S. A. Lester, and his wife and four children survive him. He was fifty-four years of age. No man had more friends among his associates than he, and the news of his death will cause much sorrow. The funeral will occur at 2 o'clock this afternoon from the residence. Interment at Oakland.
