Dec 21, 1886 A private telegram was received in the city Thursday announcing the death of Colonel G. J. Foreacre, which occurred at Newark, Ohio, yesterday morning. Colonel Foreacre was for many years prominently identified with the railway interests of Atlanta, and the news of his death will be received with profound regret by his friends here and elsewhere in the state. For a time Colonel Foreacre was general manager of the Air-Line railway, which has since been absorbed by the Richmond and Danville system. While in this position, Colonel Foreacre was always prompt to recognzie and protect the interests of Atlanta. He was a far-seeing and successful railway manager, and a man who bound his friends to him with hooks of steel. His remains arrived here Saturday and were buried in Oakland cemetery.
