Age 70 years, 8 months and 1 day. Mr. Golden was born July 5, 1853, in Atlanta, Ga., and moved to Texas while young. He was married to Nancy Catharin Taylor Nov. 2, 1876, and settled in Coryell County, TX where he spent the rest of his life. He joined the M. E. Church in 1895, and lived a devoted Christian ever since and to know him was to love him. He leaves to mourn his loss a wife and four children as follows: Coleman Golden of Winters, Texas; Mrs. A.T.(Bertie)Hull, James Golden, Gilbert Golden and a niece whom he raised and cared for from infancy, Mrs. Melvin (Mattie)Cox and grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of friends. All of his children were with him during his sickness. He was a kind and loving husband and father and a valued friend.-Copperas Cove Crony Additional Comments: This information is from the newspaper clipping my grandfather kept of his fathers death.
