Atlanta Constitution, 31 August 1910
S. J. Hightower, a Confederate veteran, 74 years of age, died at the Soldier's 
Home at 10:20 o'clock Monday night.  He was a native of Harris county, Georgia, 
and entered the Confederate service on May 12, 1862, as a member of Company H 
Fifth Georgia regiment.  During his service he lost an arm.  The body is at 
Harry G. Poole's chapel, and funeral arrangements will be announce later.
