A. Stauffacher, of College Park; Mr. and Mrs. Logan Bleckley, Mrs. Willard Nutting are invted to attend the funeral of Captain Samuel Dalton Mitchell today (Tuesday), November 25, 1919, at 3 pm from the residence, 414 Piedmont avenue. Dr. R. O. Flinn and Dr. T P Cleveland officiating. Camp No. 159, UCV and Fulton county board of commissioners are requested to act as honorary escort, and the Atlanta chapter, UDC, are asked to attend in body. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers and please meet at the residence: Dr. J B Baird, Sr., A J Shropshire, W H Gibbons, R A Hemphill, John W Lindsey, Frank Eaves, A B Reaves. Interment at West View. Barclay & Brandon Co., morticians. 26 Nov 1919 The Atlanta Constitution Funeral Services of Capt. Mitchell The funeral services of Captain Samuel Dalton Mitchell, who died Monday morning at the home, 414 Piedmont avenue, were held Tuesday afternoon. Rev. Richard Orme Flynn, pastor of the North Avenue Presbyterian church, and the Rev. Thomas P. Cleveland conducted the services. Interment was in West View cemetery. At the time of his death Captain Mitchell was the color bearer for the Atlanta chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy and members of thsi chapter were in attendance at the funeral in a body to pay their last respects to their departed comrade and friend. Captain Mitchell was a former commander of Camp 159, United Confederate Veterans. Veterans and county commissioners acted as an honorary escort. The following were pallbearers: Dr. J B Baird, Sr., A J Shropshire, W H Gibbons, R A Hemphill, John W Lindsay, Frank Eaves and A B Reaves.
