Chappell Mr. William Grady Chappell, 64, of East Point, formerly of Griffin, died Thursday, Jan. 25, at the Veterans Hospital in Atlanta after an illness of several months. Mr. Chappell was associated with the Georgia Baptist Children's Home near Palmetto as house father until he retired. He was born in Spalding County, son of the late Will Thomas Chappell and the late Laura Brown Chappell. He made his home in Griffin for most of his life where for many years he was a member of the East Griffin Baptist Church. At the time of his death Mr. Chappell was a member of the Ramah Baptist Church in Palmetto. He took an active part in the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mattie Herring Chappell; a son, Richard T. Chappell of East Point; a brother, J. M. Chappell of Griffin; three sisters, Mrs. Inez Crawford of Concord, Mrs. Eva Coates of Stonewall, Miss., and Mrs. James Blount of Meansville. Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the East Griffin Baptist Church. Rev. Walter Logan, Rev. J. C. Jones, Rev. Don Breeland and Rev. S. J.
