Atlanta Georgian and News 23 July 1910 Page 3. FUNERAL OF DR. ROSE IS SUNDAY AFTERNOON. The funeral services of Dr. R. M. Rose will be held Sunday afternoon at 4 o’clock at his residence, 481 Peachtree St. The Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery. The gentlemen wo will act as pallbearers and who are requested to meet Sunday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock at the undertaking parlors of Barclay & Brandon are J.K. Oftley, Dr. M. A. Turner, I. H. Porter, W. S. Elkin, Jr,. Dr. A. H. VanDyke, Hugh Kee, C. S. Northern, and Dr. William Owens. The following gentlemen are requested to act as honorary escorts, and meet at the residence at 3:45 p.m.: Dr. John Z Lawshe, W. H. Scott, A. Montgomery, Dr. W. M. Durham, Captain R. M. Wilson, Colonel W. S. Peel, Luther Z. Rommer, W. B. Smith, Armein Maler, A. L. Waldo, Dr. J. V. Oglesby, Harry Hill, W. T. Ashford, R. J. Griffin, L. B. Folsom, Dr. Amos Fox, R. C. Stockdell, W. L. Seruggs, Colonel A. J. McBride, J. W. English, Sr., Dr. L. D. Carpenter, Henry Potts, Clark Howell, R. E. O’Donnelly and Isaac C. Steinheimer. Additional Comments: Compiler Notes: Rufus Mathewson Rose was born in Connecuit on 17 May 1836. He was a Confederate Veteran having enlisted as a Medical Doctor in Hawkinsville Georgia on 20 May 1861. His unit was 4th CORP CO G 10th REGT, CSA. On 4 April 1865 he married as his 2nd wife: Katherine Fleming who was born: 17 Jun 1847 in Vienna, Dooly County., Georgia. She died 16 Feb 1921 in Atlanta, Fulton Co, Georgia and was buried at Oakland Cemetery with her husband. She was a daughter of Count Pulaski Fleming & Margaret Bembry. Count Pulaski Fleming is buried at Oakland Cemetery and is listed in Find A Grave. Margaret Bembry his wife was not shown but probably is buried there also.
