Fulton County Georgia Obits Miss Clara Robbins File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Claudia Brumbalow poohbear2@communicomm.com Newspaper EX Teacher Badly Burned by Gas Fire - An 82 year old retired school teacher suffered third-degree burns over 18 to 20 per cent of her body when her clothing caught fire as she stood to near a gas radiant heater in her apartment, Police reported In "fair" condition at Grady Hospital, the victim was listed as Miss Clara Robbinson of 1134 Lucille Ave., SW. Radio patrolemen A.M. Howie and W.J. Clower said Miss Robbins was alone in her basement apartment when her clothing caugh fire, She ran screaming into the hallway where Mrs. J. C. Brumbelow and D.H. Manning who occopy other apartments in the building, smothered the flames with blankets. Mrs. Brumbelow told police Miss Robbins clothing was a complete Mass of flames. Funeral Notice: Miss Clare Robbins 90 of 1134 Lucile Ave SW, died Saturday at a private hospital. Funeral services and burial will be in Jackson, Miss. Miss Robbins was born in Rankin County, Miss. and was a teacher in the public school in Jackson. She is survived by a sister Mrs. C.F.
