Scott George W. Scott, one of the most prominent financiers in Atlanta, and one of the best known men in the south, died in that city a few days ago. Mr. Scott was born in Alexandria, Pa. In 1829, but lived in the south nearly all his life. He has been associated in nearly all of the prominent business interests in Atlanta and at the time of his death was a very wealthy man. He was founder of the Agnes Scott Institute at Decatur and was the president of the George W. Scott Investment Company, one of the largest holders of real estate in the city of Atlanta. As president of that company he built the famous Century building.
