MARY THOMPSON DIES AT AGE OF 77 Mrs. MARY J. THOMPSON, 77 years of age, died Tuesday afternoon at her home, 25 East Third Street. She was one of Atlanta’s oldest and best known residents and is survived by a number of children and grandchildren, all of Atlanta. Surviving Mrs. Thompson are two sons, Charles E., and W. S. Thompson; four daughters, Mrs. Blanche Hughes, Miss Myrtle Thompson, Mrs. Wren McQuin, Mrs. J. P. Womble; five grandsons, Charles E. Thompson, Jr., Sanford Thompson, Phillip Womble, of the United States Navy; W. J. Hughes and J. F. Hughes; four granddaughters, Mrs. Charles P. Pottinger, Mrs. George Horkan, Mrs. Kate Thompson, Mrs. Ernest Osborne and several great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the residence. Dr. Harrell, pastor of the First Methodist church, and Dr. James E. Dickey officiating. Interment will be at West View Cemetery.
