R. Webster, Purchasing Agent of the State Rond (sic), Drops Dead Judge W. R. Webster died suddenly of heart disease at his home, No. 137 Crew street, at half-past six o'clock yesterday evening. He had been in feeble health for some months, but had not been confined to bed since the first of April, and had been able to be out several times since then. Yesterday afternoon he came down town in company with Mr. Duncan, his son-in-law, and had not been home more than a half hour before he died. He was sitting in his room, his wife being the only other person in the room at the time, and arose to take off his coat, when he suddenly fell and expired instantly. Judge Webster was sixty-eight years old. He was born in Connecticut, but has lived south ever since he was fifteen years of age. He has been a most valued and trusted employe (sic) of the Western and Atlantic railroad for about twenty years, being the purchasing agent for the road for the past ten or twelve years. From the close of the war until four years ago, he has lived in Decatur; since that date he has lived in this city, where he had a pleasant and attractive home on Crew street. He was a member of the Baptist church for forty years, and was a idea-con (sic-deacon) of the church in Decatur at the time of his death. He leaves a widow and four grown children. He was an estimable man in all the relations of life, and is mourned by a large circle of friends and neighbors, who sympathize deeply with the afflicted family. He will be buried in Decatur tomorrow morning.
