I have a microfilm on loan at the local Family History Center which has a tax 
digest for Cherokee County in 1849.  
     Lewis Day in Captain Pucket's militia district (#1010)      These are 
just the heads of household who paid a poll tax.      According to a chart I 
have of the militia districts, 1010 is Hickory Flat  from William W. McCollum

The Cherokee Legion was called into service for six months in July 1863 and

Boiling Springs cemetery:
Take GA 400 North to exit 4B for 140 West. Turn left. Name of road will change 
to Crossville. Turn right onto Crabapple Road aways up. Turn left onto 
Birmingham Hwy in Crabapple Corners (372 North). Go about 6 miles & turn right 
onto Birmingham Rd. Red brick church up ahead on left is Boiling Springs 
Primitive Baptist church. Cemetery is behind church up a small road. If you 
circle around cemetery, the graves are on the back left side.
