Obituary appeared in the Atlanta Constitution on Friday, August 16, 1935.
She is listed as Mrs. Edward McDowell. Her first name was not listed. 
Survivors are two sons, Hugh McDowell, Atlanta and Walter McDowell, 
Detroit.  She is buried at Crest Lawn Cemetery.  

On August 17, 1935 another notice appeared: "Last Rites are held for 
Mrs. E. M'Dowell."  It is an obvious error. It adds that Mrs. McDowell 
was formerly Miss Annie Paine, a member of an old and aristocratic 
family of Charleston, S.C. and again lists the two sons.
