Miss Briscoe, who is a daughter of the late Daniel Briscoe and Mrs. Briscoe, of Knoxville, is a beautiful young woman and very popular. She was an admired visitor in Atlanta two seasons ago when, with Miss Jeannette Cowan, of Knoxville, she was the guest of Miss Dorothy Arkwright. Major Burdett, who is now detailed at Camp Lee, Va., was stationed at Fort McPherson three years ago with the 17th infantry and has many friends here to congratulate him.
