McDevitt at Church A beautiful event of Tuesday morning was the marriage of Miss Helen Mary Hanlon to A.J. McDevitt. The ceremony took place at the Sacred Heart church at 9:30 o’clock. The church was beautifully decorated with palms and cut flowers. The pre-nuptial ceremony was performed by the Rev. Albert Carroll, in the absence of the bride’s brother, Rev. William M. Hanlon, who is in Rome, Italy. The ushers were H.N. Sullivan, Edward McDevitt and James McDevitt. Edwin C. Liddell acted as groomsman. The bridesmaid, Miss Violet McDevitt, entered first, wearing a gown of henna crepe elaborately embroidered and trimmed in bands of black fur. Her hat was a becoming model of gold lace trimmed in henna velvet ribbon. She carried an arm bouquet of yellow chrysanthemums. The maid of honor, Miss Mary Dicks, entered next. She was becomingly gowned in golden brown satin back crepe trimmed in bands of beige fur. She carried an arm bouquet of yellow chrysanthemums. The bride was given in marriage by her brother, James W. Hanlon. She was lovely in an ensemble suit of russet suede cloth trimmed in mink. Her hat was a model of bronze taffeta trimmed with gold metal flowers and lace. Her flowers were a beautiful shower of white roses and valley lilies. Immediately after the ceremony the bride and groom left for a wedding trip to Florida.
