December 7, 1890 The Atlanta Constitution Sunday, December 7, 1890 Page Twenty-Two At 1 o’clock on the afternoon of November 27, 1890, at the home of Mrs. M.A. Martin in this county, Miss Carrie Martin and Mr. J.T. Prather were united in marriage, Rev. D.J. Myrick officiating. The attendants were R.S. Martin and Miss Frankie Martin, S.A. Martin and Miss Gussie Buckner. A large crowd witnessed the ceremony and many and handsome were the presents given to the happy couple. Mr. Prather is a young gentleman of sterling worth and Miss Martin, the young bride, is one of Putnam’s fairest daughters, and will prove a blessing to him who now claims her as his own. After a sumptuous repast, the couple left for St. Augustine, Fla., where they will live. The writer slings the shoe of good luck and wishes for this happy couple a paradise on earth. Additional Comments: Transcriber's note: I'm not related to or researching the Martin and Prather families. This article doesn't specify which county the couple were married in. I've posted it to the Fulton page since the article was included in Atlanta society news and posted it to the Putnam county page, since it is also mentioned in the article.
